Teeth Cleaning
Your smile is important. It’s one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful – it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression. There are many causes of tooth discoloration. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, colas, tobacco, red wine, etc. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discoloration. Our office offers two types of tooth whitening:
- ZOOM! In-office Bleaching Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin. The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by approximately 60 minutes of bleaching. (A cleaning is recommended prior to the actual Zoom! whitening session.) Most patients have an average improvement of up to eight shades. Your dental professional can determine if you are a viable candidate for this procedure through a thorough oral exam, including a shade assessment.
- Custom Fit Tray Bleaching Impressions are taken of your mouth and thin custom made plastic trays are made for you. A small amount of the bleaching gel is placed in the trays and worn for one to two hours daily.While some results may be seen in a couple days, it usually takes one to two weeks to see the full whitening of your teeth.
